i modeled this piece after the greek pediment, where the figures were carved into the top of the building. the figures in the pediment were in a triangular form, the middle most standing and the bottommost, so i made my triptych a similar concept.
figure ground
materials: watercolor on paper
this was a more personal piece for me because i drew this based on an experienced i had at a funeral. What I witnessed that day really affected me.
lyrical poster
materials: watercolor on paper, sharpie, prismacolor, pen
since the song i picked was about, more or less, puppylove i chose a more cartoonish heart to enclose the lyrics.
Materials: photograph
It was such a beautiful day and the flowers were all in bloom, so I wanted to do something peaceful with the image.
summer assignment 1
this piece was the first i did and i really liked it because i got to try a new method. i used black and white alternatively to show the fruits.
materials: sharpie on paper
hands
materials: oil on canvas
the assignment was hands, so i used this as inspiration to create this piece. the hands area holding back and down the figure, reaching for them so they can't escape.
yearbook cover
materials: watercolor on paper
the roots take a circular shape to model the world. the tree takes up the majority of the paper, leaving a wash and paint splatters to make up the background.
materials: acrylic paint
this piece is another take on the trees project. this time, however, i used acrylic paint so i could ass texture to the piece more easily.
"an american trilogy"
make some art
materials: magazine cutouts on paper
i really liked making this piece because i got to be silly with it and not have it conformed to a "traditional" art piece.
summer assignment 2
materials: sharpie on paper
this piece was to represent a more "coming from chaos" situation.
room with a view
materials. watercolor on paper
this is a monochromatic piece. i used the different tones to create shadows and transparency in the curtains.
museum piece
materials: digital picture
this is a piece based on one at the modern art museum in fort worth. the picture was of a klu klux klan member.
silverware
materials: prismacolor
the project was to do reflective objects, silverware to be exact, but i chose to do reflective marbles because i could place multiple in a single image and they would also have depth.
